Nashville Named 16th for Tech Job Growth
We’ve all felt the growing pains associated with Nashville’s boom over the last few years—more traffic, higher housing costs, the list goes on. Sometimes, it can be easy to forget that these growing pains are only a small price to pay to witness the expansion of the city we love.
Nashville’s growth as a tech city is a hot topic both locally and nationally. This boom has gained national interest from big publications like Forbes and the Wall Street Journal, and recently, the Nashville Post published a story about the rapid growth of tech jobs in Music City. The article cites a report from Los Angeles-based real estate services firm CBRE that ranks Nashville 16th among the leading technology markets in the United States and Canada. The firm’s annual Tech-Thirty list, which analyzes the top 30 tech markets based on high-tech software and services job growth, named Nashville an “emerging market,” thanks in part to better office market conditions.
As members of the local tech community, everyone at Concept Technology is proud of Nashville’s rising status as a tech hub, and we are thrilled to play a role in our city’s tech success.
The huge influx of tech talent in Nashville over the past few years means that, when it comes to hiring new team members, we have a large pool of candidates to choose from. In fact, the research study found that
Nashville experienced a 16.2% increase in high-tech jobs from 2013 to 2015.
But not all of that job growth is from out-of-town. There are several local universities that are adding to the pool of tech talent every semester, so tech companies must be competitive in their hiring endeavors.
We think our team sets us apart from other IT service providers in Middle Tennessee, which is why we take our hiring process very seriously and have developed a proprietary method to ensure we hire the best of the best every time. We also focus on our award-winning company culture – so we attract experienced, qualified, entrepreneurial people who understand the complexities of technology and are still able to communicate in people-speak and maintain long-lasting relationships with clients.
Then, once we have our awesome tech talent, we like to help them grow professionally and to educate others. That’s why, as Nashville’s leading IT service provider, we make it a point to be involved in the local tech community. Our team enjoys sharing their tech expertise with local business owners through special sponsored events, such as the recent Cirque du Technology event we hosted at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center. For local tech and IT leaders, we recently hosted the Beers, Bites and Backups event at Tennessee Brew Works — a networking event and seminar where attendees could speak with our IT experts and learn about the latest data backup and disaster recovery technology.
We also make an effort to support the greater Nashville community through company-wide service projects and our Charity of the Month program.
The impact we make on our city—for our clients, the tech community and our fellow neighbors—is what motivates us to come to work each day and live out our two core values: 1.) Always act in the best interest of the client, and 2.) Enhance the lives of our team members and their families. And as the influence of technology continues to increase, we are proud to be Nashville’s IT experts and look forward to the growth that lies ahead.
